You don’t have to work hard to become fit! Find out why!

When one hears the word fitness the first thing that pops inside his or her head, is hours spent working out at the gym, huge amounts of sweat being spilled and diets that bring you on the brink of death by starvation.

This however, is a very big mistake. Granted, if you want to be a professional athlete or a champion then those things may apply. For the rest of us, becoming and staying fit shouldn’t be that complicated and hard.

What does being fit mean though? Well, it means not becoming out of breath when climbing a flight of stairs. It means being able to run in order to catch the bass. It means being able to play with your kids or friends, without your whole body aching the next day. As you can probably tell, being fit is all about improving your stamina.

It’s all about becoming healthy. If those arguments aren’t enough to convince you, better fitness also means longer and better sex. I read that in Now that I have your attention, let’s see what it takes to improve your fitness.

The lazy way to become fitter

Since you probably don’t want to become a world class decathlete, then you won’t have to work out too hard or starve yourself. Believe it or not, becoming fit is just a matter of slightly adjusting your lifestyle and habits. Let’s see just how easy it is:

Work out daily

Well, I thought I’d get the scariest tip out of the way first. Now, working out daily may sound a bit contradictory to what I said before about not having to work out hard, but it isn’t! You just have to exercise even for a few minutes, on a daily basis. By exercise I don’t mean doing pilates or an aerobic workout.

You could just walk somewhere instead of taking the bus or your car. You can also do some jumping jacks or jog in place for a few minutes before you go to bed. In fact, doing any sort of exercise before going to bed will even help you get to sleep faster. What I am trying to say, is that you should do a physical activity each day, even if that is working or doing a few jumping jacks.

Get some motivation

Before you even begin trying to improve your fitness though, you should find some motivation. I am not going to lie, improving your physical condition is a marathon and not a sprint. A lot of people usually give up after they don’t see any spectacular results after a couple of weeks.

Stick with your new routine and the positive change will come. This is why finding the right motivation is very important. Just visualize how much better your life will be once you get fitter. Dig your favorite clothes that don’t fit you anymore out of the closet and imagine wearing them again.

Try them on a couple of times after you start your routine to see that they are now starting to fit. Find a goal and visualize yourself achieving it, this is the best way to remain motivated.

Adjust your eating habits

Adjust your eating habitsAgain, i am not talking about starving yourself, I am talking about reducing the amount of unhealthy foods such as chocolate and hamburgers that you regularly eat and increasing the amount of healthy food.

In other words, eat your vegetables and cut down a bit on sweets and fast food.

Trust me, it is a small price to pay. Furthermore, try to have at least three meals each day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) REGULARLY.

By that I mean that you should try to have each mean on the same time each day. This is very important if you want your metabolism to work as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Drink a lot of water

Water is essential for becoming fitter. Not only will it keep you hydrated, but it also fills your belly, essentially lowering your appetite. Furthermore, is also cleanses your body since it helps get rid of unhealthy fluids.

As you can see, improving your fitness doesn’t have to be hard. Just make those slight adjustments in your lifestyle and soon you will start to reap the benefits of your, admittedly small, labors. Just hang in there and don’t give up. Trust me, the results will be worth the wait. It can even improve your sex life! If that doesn’t get you motivated, then I don’t know what will!
